The Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service is excited to release the 2015-2016 DC Reads New Tutor Interest Form.

Please review the job/volunteer description and expectations for being a DC Reads tutor below:

Must be available for an entire semester, academic year preferred and be a registered full-time student at GW
Must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University with no cases pending
Must complete all necessary DC Reads paperwork before starting at site (contract, waiver, TB test, DCPS Fingerprinting clearance & Federal Work-Study hiring (if applicable)

Basic Characteristics & Responsibilities:
Participate in consistent, weekly tutoring sessions at one of the DC Reads community partner sites (hours vary)
Attend a monthly cohort meeting facilitated by your DC Reads Team Leader(s) (1 hour/month)
Attend at least 2 DC Reads sponsored events per semester
Complete evaluations and assessments of program and service impact (monthly electronically: will be sent by DC Reads staff)
Claim Noble Hour account
Log service hours on bi-weekly time sheet

Important Dates:
Priority deadline: January 15, 2016
Final deadline: January 29, 2016

***You will need to attend 1 mandatory DC Reads 101 session & a New Tutor orientation in order to be able to participate in the GW DC Reads program. More information on days & times of the sessions and orientations will be sent to you.
